We love baklava in our house but can't make it since my husband is diabetic and on Me to diet ,but I tried this recipe and my husband said he likes it as well or better than regular baklava. Thank you for the recipe

INGREDIENT 

Pastry Dough:
  • 3 oz cream cheese softened
  • 4 oz butter softened
  • ⅓ cup almond flour
  • ⅓ cup coconut flour
  • ⅓ cup ground golden flax (or additional almond flour)
  • 1 egg yolk
Nut Filling:
  • ¾ cup chopped nuts I used ½ cup walnuts and ¼ cup pistachios
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
Syrup:
  • ½ cup Trim Healthy Mama Gentle Sweet or my sweetener
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 3 one inch pieces of lemon zest
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 tsp honey optional, see note below
