Gingerbread Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting

I love the bold flavor of gingerbread and the cream cheese frosting sounds perfect! Just looking at these puts me in a holiday mood and reminds me that I need to think about starting some shopping soon!

Gingerbread bars are so much FASTER AND EASIER than making gingerbread cookies!! The sprinkles and tangy cream cheese frosting will put everyone in a festive mood!!

INGREDIENTS

Bars
  •  one package Krusteaz Gingerbread Cookie Mix
  •  1 large egg
  •  1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  •  2 tablespoons molasses
  •  1 to 2 teaspoons cinnamon, or to taste
Frosting
  •  6 ounces cream cheese, softened (lite okay)
  •  1/4 cup (half of 1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  •  1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  •  1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  •  1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  •  about 3 to 4 tablespoons red, green, and white holiday sprinkles
