Blackberry Lime Scones

I made your wonderful blackberry lime scones. They turned out perfect. I followed your recipe completely to the T. Our local bakery made these, they recently retired and we were craving their scones. Fresh blackberries and a vibrant pop of lime make these scones irresistible!

cook Time : 20 minutes
Total Time : 35 minutes
Yield : 8 scones


INGREDIENTS
  • 2 and 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/3 granulated cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lime zest
  • 1 stick (4 ounces) unsalted butter, VERY cold and cut into tiny pieces
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 cup blackberries, fresh or frozen (If using frozen, do not thaw first)
For the egg wash:
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon milk or water
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, for sprinkling

For glaze:
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 cup confectioners sugar
